Palo Alto Networks PA-3410

§ 01OVERVIEW

The PA-3410 is the entry model of the PA-3400 family, designed for high-speed internet gateways. The single-pass architecture of PAN-OS parses traffic once; application, user and content inspection happen in the same pass, so latency does not compound as services are enabled.

Policies are written against applications (App-ID) and directory users (User-ID) rather than ports and addresses. That allows tighter permissions without inflating the rule base, and keeps the intent of each rule readable during audits.

§ 02 — KEY FEATURES

Applications and users, not ports.

F.01
App-ID Traffic is identified at application level regardless of port and protocol.
F.02
User-ID Directory integration binds policy to users and groups.
F.03
Threat prevention IPS, antivirus, DNS security and WildFire sandbox subscriptions.
F.04
Central management Multi-device policy, log and version management through Panorama.
