PA-3410 PALO ALTO FIREWALL SECURITY OPERATIONS
Palo Alto Networks PA-3410
Entry model of the PA-3400 family; policy at application and user level with App-ID and User-ID.
§ 01OVERVIEW
The PA-3410 is the entry model of the PA-3400 family, designed for high-speed internet gateways. The single-pass architecture of PAN-OS parses traffic once; application, user and content inspection happen in the same pass, so latency does not compound as services are enabled.
Policies are written against applications (App-ID) and directory users (User-ID) rather than ports and addresses. That allows tighter permissions without inflating the rule base, and keeps the intent of each rule readable during audits.
